- ECU Tune
Developed specifically for the naturally aspirated 4.8-litre V8 engine, this performance package combines Fabspeed's Maxflo Performance Exhaust System, Resonator Bypass X-Pipe and BMC F1 Performance Air Filter, with an available XperTune ECU software upgrade.
By reducing restrictions within the original exhaust system and supporting improved intake airflow, the package is designed to help the engine breathe more efficiently, delivering a sportier exhaust character and potentially improving engine responsiveness.
The exhaust components are manufactured from premium 14–16 gauge T304 stainless steel, featuring mandrel-bent tubing engineered to improve exhaust gas flow, reduce unnecessary backpressure and provide excellent corrosion resistance.
The Resonator Bypass X-Pipe replaces the original centre resonator section with a performance-oriented configuration, producing a deeper, more aggressive exhaust note that complements the character of the naturally aspirated V8.
Designed as a bolt-on upgrade, the package can be fitted without cutting or welding when installed on a compatible factory exhaust arrangement.
Ideal for Porsche Panamera GTS owners seeking enhanced sports car sound, improved exhaust efficiency and a more engaging driving experience, this Fabspeed package offers an integrated performance solution.
What This Product Does:
The Fabspeed Panamera GTS Performance Package is designed to improve exhaust gas flow, reduce intake and exhaust restrictions and enhance engine performance when combined with an appropriate ECU calibration.
Its key functions include:
- Improved Exhaust Gas Flow: The Maxflo mufflers and Resonator Bypass X-Pipe provide a less restrictive exhaust path compared with the original system.
- Sportier Exhaust Sound: Produces a deeper, more aggressive exhaust note that enhances the character of the naturally aspirated V8.
- Reduced Exhaust Backpressure: The performance exhaust components help reduce unnecessary resistance to exhaust gas flow.
- Improved Engine Responsiveness: Reduced restrictions can contribute to more responsive engine behaviour.
- Increased Horsepower Potential: Improved airflow and compatible ECU tuning may support additional engine power.
- Enhanced Torque Delivery: Suitable performance calibration can help optimise torque characteristics and acceleration.
- Improved Throttle Response: The available ECU software upgrade can refine engine response to accelerator inputs.
- High-Performance Air Filtration: The BMC F1 Replacement Air Filter supports efficient airflow while helping protect the engine against airborne contaminants.
- Improved Exhaust Durability: T304 stainless steel construction provides excellent resistance to rust and corrosion.
- Reduced Exhaust Restriction: The high-flow X-Pipe design supports efficient exhaust gas discharge.
- Premium Exhaust Appearance: Deluxe Quad Style Tips provide a sporty finish, with multiple appearance options.
- Integrated Performance Upgrade: Combines compatible exhaust, intake and tuning components within one package.
The Fabspeed Porsche Panamera GTS Performance Package is primarily a performance upgrade rather than a replacement for one specific failed component.
However, deterioration of the original exhaust or intake system may indicate that maintenance, repair or upgrading is beneficial.
Common signs include:
- Reduced Engine Performance: Restricted exhaust flow, intake contamination or underlying engine faults may contribute to reduced power and acceleration.
- Sluggish Throttle Response: Intake restrictions, sensor faults or other engine management problems can cause delayed acceleration.
- Corroded Exhaust Components: Original exhaust pipes, mufflers and fittings can develop corrosion through exposure to moisture, road salt and temperature changes.
- Exhaust Leaks: Cracked exhaust pipes, damaged welds or deteriorated gaskets may allow exhaust gases to escape.
- Excessive Exhaust Rattling: Damaged muffler internals, loose brackets or worn mountings may produce metallic noises.
- Restricted Air Filter: A dirty or clogged filter can reduce intake airflow and affect engine responsiveness.
- Damaged Muffler Components: Internal deterioration or structural damage may change the exhaust sound and compromise the system.
- Increased Exhaust Backpressure: Internal obstructions or collapsed exhaust components may restrict gas flow and reduce engine performance.
- Unusual Exhaust Noise: Unexpected changes in exhaust tone, excessive noise or metallic vibrations may indicate damage.
- Poor Acceleration: Intake, exhaust, ignition or fuelling problems can contribute to reduced engine performance.
- Excessive Exhaust Movement: Worn mounting hardware can allow the exhaust assembly to move or vibrate excessively.
- Damaged Exhaust Tips: Corrosion, impact damage or deformation may affect the appearance and alignment of the exhaust outlets.
- Engine Management Warning Light: Faults involving engine sensors, exhaust monitoring or combustion may trigger diagnostic warnings.
Why Replacement / Upgrading Matters:
- Upgrading the factory exhaust and intake system with the Fabspeed Porsche 970 Panamera GTS Performance Package provides an opportunity to enhance the vehicle's exhaust sound, responsiveness and overall driving experience.
- The Porsche Panamera GTS features a naturally aspirated 4.8-litre V8 engine known for its distinctive character and responsive power delivery.
- The original exhaust system is designed to balance sound, performance, emissions requirements and everyday driving refinement. Performance-oriented exhaust components can change this balance by reducing restriction and producing a more pronounced sports exhaust note.
- The Fabspeed Maxflo Performance Mufflers and Resonator Bypass X-Pipe are engineered to improve exhaust gas flow while enhancing the sound of the naturally aspirated V8.
- The increased exhaust character provides a more engaging driving experience, particularly during acceleration and higher engine speeds.
- Improved exhaust flow may also support engine responsiveness, especially when combined with an appropriate ECU calibration.
- The BMC F1 Performance Air Filter complements the exhaust modifications by supporting efficient intake airflow while maintaining filtration of airborne contaminants.
- When selected, the XperTune software upgrade allows the engine management calibration to be optimised for the specified vehicle configuration, providing further potential improvements in power delivery and throttle response.
- For vehicles retaining ageing original exhaust components, the package also offers an opportunity to replace mufflers and pipework affected by corrosion, structural deterioration or unwanted vibration.
- The T304 stainless steel construction provides durability and resistance to corrosion, helping maintain the condition of the exhaust components over time.
- The Deluxe Quad Style Exhaust Tips also enhance the appearance of the rear of the vehicle, allowing owners to choose a finish that complements their preferred styling.
- For Porsche enthusiasts undertaking performance modifications or exhaust refurbishment, upgrading related components together provides an integrated approach to improving sound and exhaust efficiency.
- The Fabspeed Porsche 970 Panamera GTS Performance Package combines premium stainless steel construction, vehicle-specific engineering and performance-oriented design to deliver a comprehensive upgrade for the Porsche Panamera GTS.
