The OE Match Cylinder Heat Shield Kit for Porsche 997 Carrera (2005–2008) provides a complete solution for replacing worn or corroded ignition heat shields while ensuring correct installation with genuine Porsche hardware.
This kit includes two OE Match 99610444502 heat shields, designed to fit both left and right cylinder banks. These shields are mounted over the ignition coil packs and act as a protective barrier against intense engine heat, helping maintain stable ignition performance and preventing premature failure of coil packs and surrounding components.
To ensure proper installation, the kit also includes four genuine Porsche Torx bolts (9A700812500, M6 x 16). These bolts provide secure fastening and are specifically designed for high-temperature environments, offering improved durability and ease of installation compared to standard fasteners.
Heat shields in this location are exposed to constant heat cycles, moisture, and road contaminants, which often leads to corrosion and deterioration. Replacing both shields together with new hardware ensures consistent protection across both banks and avoids issues with seized or weakened bolts.
This OE Match kit is ideal for ignition system servicing, preventative maintenance, or restoration of Porsche 997 Gen 1 models.
Original heat shields commonly corrode, weaken, or fail due to constant exposure to heat and moisture. A damaged or missing shield can lead to overheating of ignition coils, increasing the risk of misfires and reduced engine reliability. Replacing both shields together, along with new mounting bolts, ensures proper thermal protection and prevents issues caused by worn or seized hardware.
When to replace:
• Visible rust, corrosion, or deterioration
• Missing or loose heat shields
• Ignition coil issues related to heat exposure
• During coil pack replacement or servicing
• Preventative maintenance on high-mileage engines
