The OE Match exhaust valve set includes 12 precision-engineered exhaust valves designed for Porsche 996 Turbo, 996 GT2, 997 Turbo and 997 GT2 models. These valves are installed in the cylinder heads and control the release of exhaust gases from the combustion chambers during the engine’s exhaust cycle.
SET OF 12 exhaust valves
Fits:
Porsche 996 Turbo / GT2 2001 - 2005
Porsche 997.1 Turbo / GT2 3.6L 2007 - 2009
Porsche 997.2 GT2 RS 3.6L 2011

Exhaust valves are a critical component of the engine valve train. Each valve sits in the cylinder head and is operated by the camshaft through the valve train mechanism. During the combustion cycle, the valve opens to allow burnt gases to exit the cylinder and then closes to seal the chamber for the next intake and compression phases.
The OE Match set contains 12 exhaust valves, which corresponds to the number required for a complete flat-six turbo engine used in Porsche 996 and 997 Turbo models.
These valves are engineered to withstand the high temperatures and pressures generated by turbocharged combustion while maintaining precise sealing and smooth valve train operation.
The exhaust valves open during the exhaust stroke to release burnt gases from the combustion chamber and close to maintain compression during the compression and power strokes. This process ensures efficient combustion and optimal engine performance.
Replacing worn valves during engine servicing or rebuild ensures consistent sealing across all cylinders and reliable engine operation.
Exhaust valves operate under extreme temperatures and constant mechanical stress. Over time they can develop wear, carbon buildup or valve face damage, which may cause compression loss or reduced engine efficiency. Replacing the valves as a full set ensures balanced performance across all cylinders and helps maintain reliable engine operation.
Consider replacing the exhaust valves when:
• Performing a cylinder head rebuild
• Engine compression is low or uneven
• Valves show burning, pitting or excessive wear
• During a major engine overhaul or restoration
