- Porsche 911 1968-1973 2.2L / 2.4L / 2.7L RS LWB (F)
- Porsche 911 1974-1977 2.7L / 1976-77 3.0 Carrera
The OE Match “2.7” Badge is a replacement engine-capacity emblem designed for the rear ventilation grille of the Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7L from 1973–1974.
Fits:- Porsche 911 Carrera 2.7L 1973-74
The badge restores the distinctive “2.7” identification fitted to the rear of applicable classic 911 models and is ideal for:
- Restoring a missing original badge
- Replacing a faded or damaged emblem
- Completing a rear grille restoration
- Returning the car to a period-correct appearance
What This Product Does:
This badge is a cosmetic and model-identification component rather than a mechanical part.
Its main functions are to:
- Display the vehicle's 2.7-litre engine designation
- Restore the correct rear appearance
- Complete the rear ventilation-grille assembly
- Replace a missing or damaged original badge
- Maintain factory-style exterior detailing
- Support an originality-focused restoration
Although it has no effect on engine performance, the correct badge contributes significantly to the visual authenticity of a classic Porsche.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
Because this is a trim component, deterioration is usually cosmetic.
Common signs that the original badge may need replacement include:
- Faded finish
- Dull or weathered appearance
- Surface corrosion
- Pitting
- Scratches
- Chipped finish
- Bent or distorted characters
- Broken mounting pins
- Loose fitment
- Missing retaining clips
- Badge sitting crooked
- Partial detachment
- Complete loss of the emblem
- Damage caused during grille removal or restoration
Exposure to UV light, moisture, engine heat, washing and vibration can all contribute to deterioration over time.
Why Replacement Matters:
A damaged “2.7” badge will not affect the way the vehicle drives, but it can noticeably detract from the appearance and originality of a classic Porsche.
Replacement helps:
- Restore the correct engine-capacity identification
- Improve the vehicle's rear appearance
- Complete a period-correct restoration
- Replace missing or damaged trim
- Preserve the visual authenticity of the rear grille
- Prevent a loose badge from detaching completely
For restored or collectible cars, correct exterior detailing can be especially important.
