Ignition / Cam Sensor Kit by Adapt Motorsport for Porsche 911 type 964 and 993 applications. The assembly reads a trigger disc on the power-steering side of the engine and is designed for installation while the engine remains in the car.

What This Product Does
The kit provides a camshaft trigger arrangement for compatible engine-management installations. Its trigger disc is monitored by the supplied sensor, avoiding the need to drill the camshaft within the engine.
Functions
- Positions the supplied sensor beside the camshaft trigger disc
- Provides a camshaft reference signal arrangement on the power-steering side of the engine
- Supports installations with either retained or removed power steering
- Allows installation without removing the engine
Technical Details
- Two installation versions are offered for different power steering configurations
- CNC-machined sensor holder or cover finished in black anodising
- Trigger disc finished with yellow zinc plating
- Version 1 uses a sensor holder fitted to the power steering cover; the trigger disc replaces the washer beneath the power steering pulley bolt
- Version 1 requires a hole in the original aluminium belt cover plate on the 964 or the plastic belt cover on the 993
- Version 2 uses a camshaft-mounted trigger disc and a sensor cover plate fitted at the original power steering bracket location
Kit Contents
Version 1 includes the sensor holder bracket, sensor and connector kit, trigger disc, fasteners, sealing O-ring and spacers for the 993 cover. Version 2 includes the sensor mounting cover plate, sensor and connector kit, trigger disc and fasteners.
Power steering components such as the pulley, cover plate, bolt and associated fasteners are not included. Version 2 is unsuitable for aftermarket camshafts that do not have the power steering drive extension.
Optional Distributor Plug Kit
For coil-on-plug installations where the distributor has been removed, an optional plug kit closes the remaining opening in the crankcase. The plug is suitable for six-cylinder 911 engines in 2.7L, 3.0L, 3.2L and 3.6L configurations.

- Which version is required?
Choose Version 1 when retaining the original 964 or 993 power steering pump. Choose Version 2 when the pump has been removed and the camshaft still has its power steering drive extension. - Does the engine need to be removed?
No. The cam sensor arrangement is designed to be installed with the engine in the car. - Can Version 2 be used with an aftermarket camshaft?
Only when the camshaft includes the required power steering drive extension. - Are power steering parts supplied?
No. The pulley, power steering cover plate, pulley bolt and related fasteners are not part of the kit.
