Information
Air conditioning (Air Con) evaporator and blower motor set
incl. Expansion valve and o-ring seals.
This comprehensive air conditioning (A/C) system service kit bundles key HVAC components required to restore or upgrade the A/C performance in classic Porsche 911 (964 / 993) models. It includes the OE Match evaporator core, blower motors, expansion valve, and genuine O-ring seals necessary for correct installation and leak-free refrigerant performance.
Fits:
Porsche 964 1989 - 1994
Porsche 993 1994 - 1998
Diagram Ref No 5, 34, 35, 37 and 38.
This A/C service set is a combination of essential climate control components engineered to ensure your Porsche’s air conditioning system delivers reliable, cold airflow and maintains proper refrigerant flow throughout the system. The kit is ideal for A/C system rebuilds, evaporator replacement jobs, or when multiple HVAC components show wear due to age, moisture exposure, or refrigerant system fatigue.
Kit Includes:
• OE Match A/C Evaporator – OE ref no 96457390100
• OE Match A/C Blower Motor – OE ref no 96457201501
• OE Match A/C Blower Motor – OE ref no 96457201601
• OE Match A/C Expansion Valve – OE ref no 92857312305
• O-Ring Seals – OE ref no 99970743441 and 99970725141
This kit is intended for use within the air conditioning system - specifically the evaporator chamber, refrigerant metering, and blower airflow portions of the HVAC assembly.
The A/C evaporator (Part No. 96457390100) cools the cabin air by absorbing heat from incoming air passing through the HVAC system into the A/C refrigerant circuit. As refrigerant enters the evaporator, it expands and removes heat - providing cold, conditioned air for the cabin.
The blower motors (96457201501 & 96457201601) circulate air across the evaporator core and into the cabin through the ventilation ducts. Reliable blower operation is essential for efficient A/C performance and passenger comfort.
The expansion valve (92857312305) precisely meters refrigerant flow into the evaporator, ensuring the correct pressure and temperature for optimal cooling. An effective expansion valve prevents evaporator freeze-up and reduces strain on the A/C compressor.
High-quality O-ring seals (99970743441 and 99970725141) guarantee leak-free connections between A/C components, maintaining proper refrigerant pressure and system integrity.
Over time, A/C evaporators can develop internal corrosion, refrigerant leaks, or blockages. Age-worn blower motors fail to deliver sufficient airflow, and expansion valves can become clogged or lose metering precision. Faulty O-rings degrade and allow refrigerant to escape. This leads to:
• Weak cabin cooling
• Unstable A/C pressure
• Blower noise or failure
• Higher compressor load
• Reduced HVAC efficiency
Replacing these components with OE Match quality parts and genuine Porsche O-rings ensures correct fit, proper refrigerant sealing, and long-lasting air-conditioning performance.
Recommended replacements if you notice:
• Diminished cooling capacity or warm air from vents
• Weak or inconsistent blower airflow
• Refrigerant leaks or low system pressure
• Excessive blower noise
• System not reaching cold set temperature
• During A/C system overhaul or major service
