Information
Air conditioning refrigerant suction line - Rear
This OE Match rear air conditioning refrigerant suction line is a replacement A/C pipe for Porsche 964 models from 1989 to 1994. It is designed to match the original-style fitment and function, helping restore correct refrigerant flow within the air conditioning system.
Fits:
Porsche 964 C2 / C4 / RS 1989 - 1994
Diagram ref no 12
The refrigerant suction line carries low-pressure refrigerant vapour through the A/C system, returning it towards the compressor as part of the cooling cycle. A secure, leak-free suction line is essential for maintaining correct refrigerant pressure, efficient air conditioning performance, and reliable system operation.
Functions
• Replaces the rear A/C refrigerant suction line
• Carries low-pressure refrigerant through the air conditioning system
• Supports correct refrigerant return flow to the compressor
• Helps maintain A/C cooling performance and system pressure
• Helps prevent refrigerant leaks and loss of cooling efficiency
• Replaces corroded, cracked, leaking, damaged, or blocked original lines
• OE Match replacement for Porsche 964 air conditioning repair.
Why Replace This Part?
Air conditioning refrigerant lines can corrode, crack, leak, become damaged, or deteriorate due to age, vibration, moisture, road debris, and previous repairs. A leaking suction line can cause refrigerant loss, poor cooling performance, A/C compressor strain, oil residue around connections, or system pressure faults. Replacing the line helps restore a sealed refrigerant circuit and dependable A/C operation.
When to Replace This Part
• The A/C system is not cooling correctly
• Refrigerant leaks are found at the rear suction line
• Oil staining or residue is visible around the A/C pipe or connections
• The line is corroded, cracked, kinked, damaged, or blocked
• The A/C system fails a pressure or vacuum leak test
• The compressor, condenser, evaporator, or related A/C lines are being replaced
• The vehicle is undergoing Porsche 964 air conditioning restoration.
Where it fits on the car
This suction line fits in the rear section of the air conditioning refrigerant circuit on Porsche 964 models. It forms part of the low-pressure side of the A/C system and connects according to the factory refrigerant line layout.
