What This Product Does:
- Transfers the charging current produced by the alternator to the battery and electrical system.
- Keeps the battery charged while the engine runs.
- Carries voltage and signal lines for the alternator field and warning light circuits.
- Ensures proper communication between the alternator, voltage regulator, and ignition system.
- Integrates wiring for the ignition coil, temperature sensors, and other engine-side electrical parts.
- Ensures reliable power and data flow to these systems for smooth engine operation.
- Uses heat-resistant insulation, sleeves, and grommets to protect wires from engine-bay heat, oil, and vibration.
- Prevents short circuits and voltage drops caused by aging or damaged wires.
Common Issues / Symptoms Of A Bad Harness:
- The alternator may fail to charge the battery (no output or intermittent output)
- Ignition problems, misfires, poor engine running because sensors or ignition wiring is compromised
- Blown fuses or electrical faults in the engine bay
- Loose or corroded connectors, brittle insulation, broken wires
