Ashtray delete AC controls relocation housing.
Fits:
Porsche 911 (G-Series) up to 1985
Upgrade your G-body Porsche 911 interior with this custom-designed AC controls relocation housing. This accessory seamlessly integrates into your car, enhancing its functionality without compromising its classic look. Considering removing the center console, but would still love to retain the air conditioning system without having controls feel out of place. Here’s an OEM-look and fit solution that addresses this issue. This housing seamlessly blends with the classic interior replacing ashtray assembly, and can accommodate both older and newer styles of knobs.
Installation uses standard ashtray mounting spots, there is no alteration required, which means it's 100% reversible.
Manufactured with PA12 Nylon - known for heat and chemical resistance, strong and durable part.
Installation:
• remove passenger side knee pad/trim (2x10mm nuts)
• remove ashtray (additional 2x10mm nuts)
• Install accessory reusing 2 10mm nuts and washers.
You will notice that there is small amount of adjustability - with old cars some of the interior pieces are no exactly how they left the factory so the small amount of movement should allow you to set equal gaps between left and right knee trim/pad) - install passenger knee pad/trim.

What This Product Does:
Acts as the 12-volt accessory / lighter socket in the vehicle’s center console or dashboard — allowing a lighter to heat or more commonly now to serve as an accessory power outlet.
Symptoms / Signs It Needs Replacement:
- The lighter element no longer heats or works when pushed in.
- The socket fails to provide power, i.e. no voltage at the accessory outlet.
- Loose fit or poor contact with accessory plugs (the plug wiggles or loses connection).
- The socket is burnt, corroded, or damaged internally.
- The bezel or housing around the lighter is cracked, broken, or loose.
Why Replacement Matters:
- Restores functionality for 12V accessories, which many modern drivers rely on (phone chargers, USB adapters, etc.).
- Prevents electrical faults or shorts, which might occur if the socket is damaged or corroded.
- Ensures clean and secure connections, avoiding intermittent power loss to devices.
- Maintains interior aesthetics and Original Equipment appearance — a proper OEM socket matches the console design.
- A broken or weak socket can overheat or damage plugs — replacing with a good socket reduces risk.
