Information
Cabriolet Hood Relay / Convertible Top Control Relay
Genuine Porsche electrical control module that manages the powered opening and closing of the soft-top on Porsche Boxster 986 models. As the factory-specified replacement for earlier versions 98661811100 and 98661811102, this relay ensures correct sequencing, timing, and safety control of the convertible roof motors and microswitches.
Fits:
Porsche 986 Boxster 1997-99 (M439)
with option code: 439 - Electrical hood operation
* Please check and match the part number of your relay in your car before ordering.
Located in the relay panel, it serves as the central switching unit that coordinates roof operation with various vehicle inputs - including the handbrake, roof latch microswitch, and hydraulic or electric motor signals. Designed to exact Porsche specifications, it delivers reliable switching performance and long-term durability, essential for smooth and trouble-free convertible operation.
Aging relays often cause slow, erratic, or completely inoperative roof behaviour. Replacing it with this relay restores proper function and maintains full compatibility with the Boxster’s roof control system.
