The clutch bolt provides the critical clamp load needed to fasten the pressure plate securely to the flywheel. Proper clamping ensures even pressure across the friction surfaces, allowing the clutch to engage and disengage smoothly with consistent torque transfer from the engine to the transmission. Without secure, reliable hardware, clutch performance can be compromised, leading to slippage, vibration, or premature wear.
