What This Product Does
This cover provides the lacquered finish around the gear-selector opening and conceals the adjoining centre-console structure. It is an individual finishing piece rather than a complete console or gearshift mechanism.
Functions
- Surrounds the shift-gate opening
- Finishes the rear centre-console assembly
- Replaces cracked, loose or visibly worn trim
Technical Details
- Genuine Porsche interior trim component
- Part number: 99755324102N23
- Position: rear centre-console shift-gate area
- Identification: PR:249 / I249
Symptoms of Fault
- Chipped, scratched or faded lacquer
- Cracking around the selector opening
- Loose fit or movement within the console
- Rattling caused by damaged attachment points
- Uneven alignment with surrounding trim
Why Replacement Matters
Fitting a sound replacement helps restore the intended console finish and allows the trim to sit correctly against adjacent panels. As this is a cosmetic interior component, replacing it will not resolve stiffness, play or other mechanical gear-selection problems.
FAQs
- Is this a complete centre console?
No. This is the lacquered cover positioned around the shift gate; neighbouring console parts are separate. - Why must the model year be checked?
The wider console assemblies cover earlier vehicles, but the diagram information lists this Carrera Red cover from model year 2008 onwards. - Will this repair a loose or inaccurate gear change?
No. Mechanical selection issues require inspection of the gearshift assembly, cables, linkages, bushes and related components.
