Porsche 928 RDK Tyre Pressure Sensor Dummies and Fitting Tools –
Cost-Effective TPMS Replacement Solution
Complete car set
The Porsche 928 models from 1990 onwards were equipped with RDK (Reifen Druck Kontrolle) tyre pressure monitoring sensors. Each wheel contains two factory sensors designed to monitor tyre pressure and alert the driver to pressure loss.
Fits:
- Porsche 928 S4 5.0L 1987-92
- Porsche 928 GT 5.0L 1989-91
- Porsche 928 GTS 5.4L 1992-95
Replacement and fitting tools for diagram Ref No 6, 7 and 8
This complete set includes:
8 x Wheel Sensor Dummies
8 x Wheel Sensor Dummy Securing Nuts
8 x Wheel Sensor Dummy Seals
1 x Sensor nut tool with square pegs (for the retaining nut)
1 x Sensor body tool with round pegs (for the RDK sensor itself)
While advanced for their time, original Porsche 928 RDK sensors are now commonly failing due to age. Replacement sensors are expensive and increasingly difficult to source.
Our Porsche 928 RDK tyre pressure sensor dummy kit provides a practical, cost-effective alternative when refurbishing wheels or removing a failed RDK system.
What These RDK Sensor Dummies Do
These precision-machined dummy units replace the original RDK tyre pressure sensors inside the wheel. They:
• Maintain correct sealing of the wheel
• Preserve the original mounting position
• Allow safe wheel use without active RDK sensors
• Provide a clean solution during wheel refurbishment or powder coating
When repowder coating or refurbishing Porsche 928 wheels, the original RDK sensors must be removed using special Porsche tools. Instead of reinstalling ageing or faulty sensors, these dummy units can be fitted in their place using the original installation method.
Why Upgrade to RDK Sensor Dummies?
Avoid High Replacement Costs
Original Porsche 928 RDK sensors are expensive to replace. If your system is no
longer operational or you are not relying on factory TPMS, dummy units offer a
far more economical solution.
Ideal for Wheel Refurbishment
When powder coating or restoring 928 alloy wheels, sensors must be removed.
Installing new dummy units prevents refitting old, fragile components.
Improved Corrosion Protection
The supplied nuts and dummy units feature a durable anodised coating for
long-term corrosion resistance. This offers improved protection compared to
ageing original mounting nuts. Even if your original nuts appear reusable,
fitting new anodised hardware is strongly recommended.
OEM-Compatible Installation
The dummy units can be installed using the original Porsche RDK installation
tools. According to the Porsche workshop manual, the correct tightening torque
for the mounting nut is 20 Nm.
Optional Protection Caps
Now also available with protective caps for additional durability and a cleaner
finish.
Installation Overview
• Remove tyre from rim
• Use Porsche RDK tool to remove sensor
• Install dummy unit using factory tool
• Tighten mounting nut to 20 Nm as per Porsche specification
Kit Contents
• 2x Tyre pressure sensor dummy units
• 2x Anodised mounting nuts
• 2x O-rings
Ideal For:
• Porsche 928 1990-on models with failed RDK (TPMS) sensors
• Owners deleting factory TPMS systems
• Wheel refurbishment and powder coating projects
• Restorations requiring safe and sealed wheel assemblies
• Cost-effective alternatives to OEM RDK replacement
If your Porsche 928 Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) sensors have failed or you are refurbishing your wheels, this dummy kit offers the cleanest and most economical replacement option available.

Professional Installation
The OnTrack Internal TPMS Sensors are mounted inside each wheel, replacing the standard valve assembly. As the sensors fit internally, the tyre must be removed from the wheel rim during installation, so professional fitting by a tyre specialist is recommended. Once installed, the sensors are protected from road debris, weather and accidental damage, providing a discreet OEM-style appearance and dependable long-term performance.
Why Choose OnTrack?
Developed by motorsport enthusiasts, the OnTrack Internal TPMS System delivers professional-grade tyre monitoring in a discreet, OEM-style installation. While designed to withstand the demands of circuit driving, it's equally valuable for everyday road use, helping drivers maintain correct tyre pressures, improve safety, reduce tyre wear, enhance fuel efficiency and detect potential tyre issues before they become serious.
External Tyre Valve Cap TPMS Sensors (Pack of 4)
Monitor your tyre pressures and temperatures with confidence using the OnTrack External Tyre Valve Cap TPMS Sensors. Originally developed for track days, motorsport and high-performance driving, these lightweight Bluetooth® sensors are equally at home on the road, allowing everyday drivers to monitor tyre pressures and temperatures in real time to improve reliability, safety, tyre life and overall driving confidence.
Replacing your existing valve caps, the external sensors install in minutes with no tyre removal or specialist tools required. Once paired with the free OnTrack App, they provide fast, accurate, real-time pressure and temperature readings for all four tyres, helping you identify pressure loss, uneven temperatures and changing tyre conditions before they become a problem.
Unlike many conventional TPMS systems, OnTrack delivers ultra-fast refresh rates via Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), allowing you to monitor tyre performance live whether you're chasing lap times on circuit, enjoying a spirited weekend drive or simply keeping your Porsche's tyres at their optimum pressure during everyday use.
