What This Product Does
The felt scraper provides a contact surface against the moving door glass at the window slot. It is a sealing component rather than replacement glass, a window regulator or a guide mechanism.
Functions
- Maintains felt contact with the door window.
- Supports the window sealing assembly.
- Replaces a worn or damaged clip-on scraper.
Technical Details
- Component: inner door glass felt scraper.
- Attachment: clip-on.
- Body-style application: TARGA / CABRIO.
- Brand: OE Match, a Porsche-focused replacement-parts brand.
- Supplied illustration note: Diagram ref no 7.
Symptoms of Fault
Window rattles, wind whistle, moisture around the glass or visible deterioration warrant inspection of the scraper and adjacent seals. Uneven or slow glass travel can also involve worn guides, incorrect adjustment or regulator faults, so these symptoms do not establish that the scraper alone needs replacement.
Why Replacement Matters
Renewing deteriorated felt helps restore contact at the window slot during maintenance or restoration. Inspect the surrounding sealing surfaces, retaining points and window alignment at the same time to avoid leaving related faults unresolved.
FAQs
Will this correct a binding window?
Not necessarily. Check the guides, regulator and glass adjustment before attributing restricted movement to the scraper.
What should be checked before fitting?
Confirm the body style, production year and required component position. Clean the mounting area and inspect the retaining points before installation.
