This comprehensive engine rebuild gasket kit contains the essential seals and gaskets required to completely rebuild the engine, including both cylinder head gaskets, making it the ideal solution for complete engine overhauls, cylinder head repairs, engine reconditioning and preventative maintenance.
Manufactured to original equipment specifications, every gasket and seal is engineered to provide precise fitment, excellent sealing performance and long-term durability, ensuring your rebuilt M96 engine performs reliably for years to come.
What Does a Complete Engine Gasket Set Do?
An engine gasket set provides all the primary sealing components required during engine assembly, ensuring every critical mating surface is correctly sealed.
The gaskets and seals are designed to:
- Seal the combustion chambers.
- Maintain correct engine compression.
- Prevent oil leaks.
- Prevent coolant leaks.
- Separate oil and coolant galleries.
- Maintain correct engine operating pressures.
- Restore factory sealing performance during an engine rebuild.
Using a complete gasket set ensures every major sealing component is renewed, reducing the likelihood of future leaks and improving the overall reliability of the engine rebuild.
Why Replace the Complete Gasket Set?
During engine disassembly, original gaskets become compressed and cannot reliably be reused. Replacing every gasket during rebuilding ensures maximum sealing integrity and reduces the risk of future oil or coolant leaks.
A complete gasket set is recommended for:
- Full engine rebuilds.
- Cylinder head replacement.
- Engine reconditioning.
- Oil leak repairs.
- Coolant leak repairs.
- Preventative maintenance.
- High mileage engine refurbishment.
- Performance engine builds.
Replacing individual gaskets while leaving older seals in place can compromise the quality and longevity of the rebuild.
Why Do Engine Gaskets Fail?
Engine gaskets operate under extreme temperatures and pressures while constantly expanding and contracting during engine operation.
Common causes of failure include:
- Heat ageing.
- High mileage.
- Thermal cycling.
- Oil contamination.
- Coolant contamination.
- Engine overheating.
- Incorrect installation.
- Natural material fatigue.
Replacing all gaskets during an engine rebuild ensures every sealing surface is restored to original specification.
When Should a Complete Gasket Set Be Installed?
A complete engine gasket set should always be installed
whenever:
- Rebuilding the engine.
- Replacing cylinder head gaskets.
- Removing the cylinder heads.
- Reconditioning the engine.
- Repairing major oil leaks.
- Repairing coolant leaks.
- Carrying out preventative maintenance.
- Performing a complete engine overhaul.
Renewing every gasket during assembly helps prevent future leaks, reduces repeat labour and ensures long-term engine reliability.

Manufactured from premium heat-resistant and oil-resistant sealing materials, each gasket is engineered to withstand extreme combustion pressures, high operating temperatures and continuous exposure to engine oil and coolant. Precision-cut for direct OE-style installation, every component is designed to match the original factory specifications, making this gasket set ideal for engine rebuilds, cylinder head repairs and major engine servicing.
What This Product Does:
- Provides all the essential seals required when servicing the cylinder head.
- Restores a reliable seal between the cylinder head and engine block.
- Maintains engine compression.
- Prevents oil and coolant leaks.
- Separates oil, coolant and combustion chambers.
- Supports efficient engine operation and performance.
- Restores factory sealing throughout the cylinder head assembly.
- Forms an essential part of the engine rebuild and repair process.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
- Engine overheating.
- Coolant loss without visible external leaks.
- Engine oil contamination.
- Milky residue beneath the oil filler cap.
- White exhaust smoke caused by coolant entering the combustion chamber.
- Loss of engine compression.
- Poor engine performance or misfires.
- External oil or coolant leaks around the cylinder head.
- Bubbles in the coolant expansion tank.
- Low coolant level or excessive cooling system pressure.
Why Replacement Matters:
- The cylinder head gasket and associated seals are subjected to extreme combustion pressures, constant thermal cycling and continual exposure to engine oil and coolant. Over time, these sealing components can deteriorate, allowing fluids to mix or escape and reducing engine compression.
- A failed head gasket or deteriorated sealing components can lead to overheating, coolant loss, oil contamination and significant engine damage if left unresolved. During any cylinder head removal, replacing all associated gaskets and seals is essential to ensure a reliable repair and prevent future leaks.
- The OE Match Engine Head Gasket Set provides all the necessary sealing components to restore factory sealing performance during engine repairs. Manufactured to OE standards using premium-quality materials, this comprehensive gasket set delivers precise fitment, excellent durability and dependable long-term reliability, making it the ideal solution for Porsche engine rebuilds, restorations and preventative maintenance.

The OE Match Carburettor Gasket Set is a replacement sealing kit for Solex 40 PBIC and 40 PICB carburettors fitted to early Porsche 356 applications.
x2 Required Per Car.
- Porsche 356 Pre-A / 356 A Super engines
Carburettor gaskets create seals between the various sections and mating surfaces of the carburettor assembly. These seals are essential for preventing unwanted air leaks, fuel seepage and loss of vacuum that can interfere with correct fuel metering and engine operation.
Over time, original gasket material can harden, shrink, crack or become damaged during disassembly. Reusing old gaskets after a carburettor has been opened can also lead to unreliable sealing. Installing fresh gaskets during servicing or rebuilding helps restore correct sealing and dependable carburettor operation.
What This Product Does:
- Seals mating surfaces within the Solex carburettor assembly.
- Helps prevent fuel leaks from carburettor joints.
- Helps prevent unwanted air or vacuum leaks.
- Supports accurate air/fuel metering.
- Helps maintain stable idle and predictable throttle response.
- Provides fresh sealing components during carburettor rebuilding.
- Replaces hardened, compressed or damaged original gaskets.
- Helps restore reliable operation after carburettor disassembly.
- Supports correct sealing of the 40 PBIC and 40 PICB carburettors.
A carburettor relies on controlled airflow and precisely metered fuel. Air entering through an unintended gasket leak can disturb the mixture, while fuel leakage creates both running problems and a potential safety concern.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
Possible signs of deteriorated carburettor gaskets include:
- Fuel seepage around carburettor joints.
- Strong petrol smell in the engine compartment.
- Dampness or staining around gasket surfaces.
- Rough or unstable idle.
- Engine idle speed that is difficult to adjust.
- Lean running caused by unwanted air entering the carburettor.
- Hesitation during acceleration.
- Poor throttle response.
- Uneven engine running.
- Difficult starting.
- Carburettor mixture settings that will not remain consistent.
- Increased fuel consumption.
- Visible cracking, shrinking or hardening of gasket material.
- Gaskets tearing when the carburettor is dismantled.
- Vacuum leaks detected around carburettor mating surfaces.
These symptoms can also be caused by worn throttle shafts, blocked jets, incorrect float levels or other carburettor faults, so the complete carburettor should be inspected during diagnosis.
Why Replacement Matters:
Carburettor gaskets are designed to seal accurately between components. Once the gasket material has been compressed and exposed to fuel, heat and repeated temperature cycles, it may no longer reseal effectively after removal.
A damaged gasket can allow either fuel or air to pass where it should not.
Replacing worn gaskets helps restore:
- Correct carburettor sealing.
- Stable idle.
- Accurate fuel metering.
- Consistent throttle response.
- Reduced risk of fuel leakage.
- Reliable starting.
- Better carburettor adjustment.
- Cleaner and safer engine-bay operation.
