OE Match exhaust U-tube clamp used to secure the exhaust connecting pipe at the U-bend (U-tube) on Porsche 986 Boxster applications.

It locks the exhaust joint together at the connecting pipe/U-bend interface, maintaining alignment and helping prevent exhaust leaks, vibration, and movement under heat expansion. A fresh clamp is especially important after exhaust removal, where old clamps often seize or deform and can’t be reused reliably.
Function:
• Provides secure clamping force at the U-tube/connecting pipe joint
• Helps maintain a tight, leak-resistant seal under heat cycling
• Supports proper exhaust alignment to reduce rattles and stress on joints
Exhaust clamps live in a harsh environment and commonly rust, seize, and become impossible to loosen without damage. Replacing the clamp during exhaust work helps ensure the joint reseals properly, avoids leaks and rattles, and prevents wasted time fighting corroded hardware.
When to replace:
• When removing/refitting the U-bend or connecting pipe
• If the clamp is corroded, seized, stretched, or deformed
• If you have exhaust blowing/leak noise at the joint
