The Fabspeed Porsche 944 Turbo 951 Sport Cat is a high-flow performance catalytic converter designed to reduce exhaust restriction while retaining catalytic exhaust treatment.

Using a 200-cell high-flow catalyst combined with mandrel-bent T304L stainless-steel tubing, the Sport Cat provides a freer-flowing exhaust path than the restrictive original catalyst arrangement. On the turbocharged Porsche 944 Turbo / 951, reducing post-turbo exhaust restriction can improve exhaust flow, throttle response and overall performance while also producing a more defined performance exhaust note.
The Sport Cat is designed to work with the Fabspeed Downpipe. It can be purchased separately for vehicles already equipped with the appropriate Fabspeed downpipe or selected together with the downpipe as a complete configuration.
What This Product Does:
The catalytic converter forms part of the exhaust system and processes exhaust gases before they leave the vehicle.
A conventional catalyst contains a structured substrate coated with catalytic materials. As hot exhaust gases pass through this substrate, chemical reactions convert harmful pollutants into less harmful compounds.
The Fabspeed Sport Cat performs this basic catalytic function while using a high-flow 200-cell design intended to reduce restriction compared with the original catalyst arrangement.

200-Cell High-Flow Catalyst:
- The Fabspeed system uses a 200-cell high-flow catalytic converter.
- Cell count describes the density of the passages through the catalyst substrate. A performance-oriented 200-cell design provides relatively large passages for exhaust gases while maintaining the surface area required for catalytic reactions.
- Reducing restriction is particularly relevant to a turbocharged engine because exhaust gases leaving the turbocharger still need to travel efficiently through the remainder of the exhaust system.
- A freer-flowing post-turbo exhaust can therefore support improved engine and turbocharger response.

The Sport Cat is designed specifically to work with the Fabspeed Porsche 944 Turbo Downpipe.
The Sport Cat alone cannot simply replace the complete factory catalyst arrangement without the compatible downpipe.
It can therefore be ordered:
- As a Sport Cat for a vehicle already equipped with the compatible Fabspeed downpipe
- Together with the Fabspeed downpipe as a complete configuration
The existing exhaust configuration should be confirmed before ordering.
