The Fabspeed Muffler Bypass Exhaust System is a high-performance exhaust upgrade designed for the 2000–2005 Porsche 996 Turbo.

Developed for drivers looking for maximum exhaust character and reduced restriction, the system replaces the restrictive factory muffler arrangement with a much freer-flowing bypass design. The result is a significantly louder, more aggressive exhaust note together with improved exhaust flow, sharper throttle response and reduced rear-end weight.
Fabspeed offers the system in two configurations. The Race configuration uses catalyst-bypass pipes for maximum flow. Fabspeed notes that emissions-related configurations may be restricted to closed-course or off-road use depending on local legislation, so applicable regulations should be checked before installation.
Manufactured from 14–16 gauge CNC mandrel-bent T304L stainless steel, the system is designed to provide excellent heat resistance, corrosion resistance and long-term durability. Fabspeed also states that the system removes approximately 45 lb (20 kg) from the rear of the vehicle compared with the factory arrangement.
What This Product Does:
The exhaust system carries combustion gases away from the turbochargers and engine. Factory mufflers are designed to control exhaust volume, but they also introduce resistance into the exhaust path.
The Fabspeed Muffler Bypass system removes much of this restriction by providing a more direct exhaust route.
