What This Product Does
The rotating fan generates cooling airflow, while its surrounding housing helps direct that air through the engine cooling system. Both components contribute to the airflow needed by an air-cooled engine to dissipate heat.
Functions
- Generates airflow for engine cooling.
- Channels air through the fan housing.
- Replaces the housing and fan blades together.
Technical Details
- Brand: OE Match.
- Assembly: cooling fan blades with housing.
- Diameter: 225mm.
- Material: aluminium.
- Specified applications: Porsche 911 RSR, 906 and 914 GT.
Symptoms of Fault
- Engine or oil temperatures becoming unusually high.
- Abnormal vibration or noise near the fan.
- Rattling around the housing or its mountings.
- Visible housing cracks or damaged blades.
These signs are not conclusive evidence of a faulty fan assembly. Inspect the surrounding ducting, seals, tinware and fixings as part of diagnosis, since damage or gaps elsewhere can also affect cooling airflow.
Why Replacement Matters
A damaged fan or cracked housing can disrupt the intended airflow. Replacing affected components helps restore the cooling arrangement and addresses deterioration caused by age, vibration or physical damage. OE Match focuses on Porsche replacement applications, with specification review and sample assessment forming part of its component-development process.
FAQs
- Does this include the fan blades?
Yes. The supplied product information specifies a housing together with fan blades. - What should be checked before fitting?
Confirm the 225mm specification and compare the existing assembly, mounting arrangement and engine application. Inspect adjoining cooling components for damage or looseness. - Will replacing the assembly resolve every overheating issue?
No. Restricted ducting, missing seals and other engine faults may produce similar symptoms, so establish the cause before replacing parts.
