What This Product Does
The sender provides the electrical indication used to show how much fuel remains in the tank. Its role is measurement rather than pumping fuel or regulating delivery pressure.
Functions
- Detects changes in tank fuel level.
- Supplies fuel-level information to the vehicle’s instrumentation.
Technical Details
- 95862083101: left-hand fuel gauge sender.
- 95862083202: right-hand fuel gauge sender.
- Petrol diagram application: Cayenne 92A (958), 2011–18, with PR codes 2G1, 2G4 or 2G7.
Symptoms of Fault
- Fuel indication remains at either end of the scale.
- The displayed level jumps unexpectedly or fails to respond after refuelling.
- Low-fuel warnings do not correspond with the amount in the tank.
- Intermittent readings accompany damaged terminals or wiring corrosion.
Why Replacement Matters
Renewing a confirmed faulty sender helps restore useful fuel-level information for refuelling decisions. Check the wiring, connections and dashboard indication before replacement, as a sender is not the only possible source of an incorrect reading.
FAQs
- Which reference identifies each side?
95862083101 identifies the left-hand sender; 95862083202 identifies the right-hand sender. Match the required position and vehicle specification. - Does an incorrect reading prove sender failure?
No. Connection faults, wiring damage and the gauge can produce similar behaviour, so diagnosis should come first. - Should the seal be checked?
Yes. Inspect the sender sealing area during the repair, particularly if fuel odour is present. A worn seal may require renewal separately.
