Information
Engine coolant expansion tank kit with sensor.
This kit brings together the expansion tank, cap, long-life coolant, and a coolant level sensor into one complete package.
Fits:
Porsche 986 Boxster 1997 - 2004
Porsche 987.1 Boxster 2.7L / 3.2L 2005 - 2006 (9625, 9626)
Diagram ref no 8, 11, 26, 27, 34
This Genuine Porsche kit is designed to fit Porsche vehicles that use 99610614708 as the factory coolant expansion reservoir — most commonly Porsche Boxster 986 (1997-2004) and Boxster 987 (2005-2006) models. Always verify exact model year and engine compatibility before installation.
This kit comprises high-quality Genuine Porsche cooling system components used in the thermal management and fluid monitoring aspects of your engine’s cooling circuit:
• 99610614708 × 1 – Genuine Porsche Coolant Expansion Tank: The official OEM reservoir designed to store excess engine coolant as it expands with heat. It fits precisely into the cooling system and integrates with factory mounting points.
• 99610644704 × 1 – Genuine Porsche Expansion Tank Cap: The correct factory cap for the expansion tank, engineered to maintain proper internal cooling system pressure and ensure a reliable seal under varying thermal conditions.
• 00004330515 × 5 – Genuine Porsche Long-Life Antifreeze (1 L Bottles, Red): Porsche-approved coolant concentrate that, when mixed with distilled water, delivers up to 5 years of corrosion protection, freeze/boil resistance, and thermal stability — helping safeguard vital engine components.
• 99764150300 × 1 – Genuine Porsche Coolant Level Sensor: A factory-original fluid level monitoring sensor that mounts in the expansion tank to provide accurate readings and trigger dashboard warnings if coolant drops below safe levels.
Together, these parts provide a comprehensive service solution for the coolant expansion side of your Porsche’s cooling system.
Original expansion tanks can become brittle, cracked, or discoloured over many heat cycles, leading to leaks, loss of coolant, and poor pressure stability. Failing to replace degraded components can result in engine overheating and reduced cooling system efficiency. Using Genuine Porsche parts ensures a precise match to factory standards and helps maintain consistent cooling performance and fluid integrity - protecting your engine from undue stress and potential damage.
Replace these parts when you notice any of the following conditions:
• Cracks or visible leaks around the expansion tank
• Discolouration or brittleness of plastic components
• Coolant level fluctuations without visible leaks
• Overheating symptoms or reduced cooling performance
• Routine coolant system maintenance interval is due
