Information
Heater blower fan with steel casing
This OE match heater blower fan is a direct replacement for the original Porsche component used in the heating system of air-cooled 911 models. Housed in a durable steel casing, it is mounted in the engine bay and forms a key part of the vehicle’s heating and ventilation system.
Fits:
Porsche 911 3.2L 1984-89
Porsche 965 Turbo 3.3L / 3.6L 1991-94
Diagram ref no 1
This blower fan forces warm air generated by the engine’s heat exchangers into the cabin heating ducts. It improves airflow, helping the interior heat up more quickly and maintain consistent cabin temperature, especially at lower engine speeds.
Function
• Circulates heated air from heat exchangers to cabin
• Enhances heating performance at low engine speeds
• Maintains consistent airflow through HVAC system
• Supports demisting and defrosting functions
• Operates within engine compartment under high heat conditions
A failing heater blower can result in weak or inconsistent cabin heating, poor demisting, and reduced comfort. Over time, motors can wear out or fail due to heat and age. Replacing the blower restores proper airflow, ensures effective heating, and maintains safe visibility in cold or damp conditions.
When to replace
• Weak or no airflow from heating system
• Cabin takes too long to heat up
• Unusual noise from blower motor
• Heater not functioning at low engine speeds
• During heating system overhaul or restoration
