Information
Heater blower motor and fan (in bulkhead).
The blower motor with integrated fan, designed for the heating and ventilation system of early Porsche 911, 912 and 914. Its function is to drive airflow through the heater box, evaporator or heat exchanger, and distribute conditioned air into the cabin - ensuring comfort, defrosting, and proper climate control. Built to original factory specifications, it ensures quiet, robust airflow, restores cabin comfort and supports reliable heating, ventilation and defrost performance.
Fits:
Porsche 911 1965 - 1989
Porsche 912 1969
Porsche 914 1970 - 1976
Diagram ref no 11
• Position on Vehicle: Mounted in the front bulkhead/heater box area ('centre of bulkhead') behind the dashboard or in the ventilation/heating assembly.
• Cross-Reference / Alternative Numbers: 911 571 320 32 (replaces 901 571 320 32)
• Applications: Ideal when the original blower motor shows reduced airflow, increased noise, or erratic operation - or when restoring the HVAC system of a classic Porsche to full performance.
The blower motor is a core component of the HVAC system in your Porsche: it supplies the airflow needed for heating, cooling and ventilation. When the motor or fan wheel deteriorates, you may experience weak airflow, increased noise, erratic vent output or failed defrosting—compromising comfort and safety. Replacing it with a quality OE-Match unit restores proper airflow distribution, ensures the longevity of other HVAC components and maintains the premium experience your Porsche deserves.
When and why to replace:
• Noticeable reduction in airflow or weak ventilation from vents.
• Unusual noises (whine, rattle, vibration) coming from the blower or vents.
• Blower fails to operate or only works intermittently.
• Visible damage, wear or corrosion in the blower housing or fan.
• During or after restoration of the heating/ventilation system of a classic Porsche.
