The heater cable transfers movement from the cabin heater control lever to the heater control mechanism. When the control is operated, the cable opens or closes the heater flaps / control boxes, allowing warm air from the engine heating system to be directed into the cabin.
Functions
• Connects the heater control lever to the heater control mechanism
• Transfers cabin control movement to the heater flaps / heater boxes
• Helps regulate warm air flow into the cabin
• Supports correct heater and demister operation
• Replaces stretched, seized, frayed, or damaged original heater cables
• Helps restore smooth heater control adjustment
• OE Match replacement for heating system repair or restoration.
Why Replace This Part?
Heater cables can stretch, seize, corrode, fray, kink, or become stiff over time due to age, moisture, heat, and long-term use. A worn cable may prevent the heater flaps from opening or closing correctly, causing poor cabin heat, limited demister performance, uneven heater control, or excessive lever resistance. Replacing the heater cable helps restore proper heating system adjustment and reliable cabin comfort.
When to Replace This Part
• The heater cable is stretched, seized, frayed, kinked, or corroded
• The heater control lever feels stiff or loose
• The heater flaps do not open or close correctly
• Cabin heating is weak, inconsistent, or difficult to control
• Demister performance is poor due to heater control issues
• The heater boxes, control flaps, or heater levers are being serviced
• The vehicle is undergoing classic Porsche interior or heating system restoration.
Where it fits on the car
This heater cable fits within the cabin heater control and rear heater control system. It runs from the heater control lever area to the heater control mechanism according to the factory cable routing.
