Information
Inner door felt seal
These OE Match Inner Door Felt Seals are high-quality replacement components developed to replicate the original Porsche design for fit, finish, and function. Installed along the upper inner edge of the door frame, these felt-lined seals provide a smooth contact surface for the window glass during operation.
Sold as: Individual side-specific pieces
Fits:
Porsche 911 >>1985
Diagram ref no 25
Designed specifically for classic Porsche 911 models up to 1985, these seals are supplied individually and are side-specific, allowing precise replacement of either the left or right side as required. They are essential components in maintaining proper window operation and restoring factory-correct door function, particularly in restoration or refurbishment projects.
These inner felt seals provide a controlled, cushioned channel for the door glass, ensuring smooth window movement while reducing noise, vibration, and wear inside the door assembly.
Function
• Guides and stabilises window glass within the door frame
• Provides a soft felt-lined surface to prevent scratches
• Reduces friction during window operation
• Minimises rattling, vibration, and noise
• Maintains correct window alignment and sealing contact
Over time, the felt lining can wear down, flatten, or deteriorate, leading to increased friction and poor window guidance. This can result in scratched glass, misalignment, or noisy operation.
Replacing worn inner door felt seals restores smooth window function, protects the glass, and improves overall door refinement - especially important in classic Porsche restorations.
When to replace
• Window movement becomes stiff or uneven
• Visible wear, thinning, or damage to felt lining
• Glass shows signs of scratching or misalignment
• Increased rattling or noise from the door
• During door, window, or trim restoration
