The intake manifold gasket forms a critical seal between the intake manifold and the engine’s cylinder head. Its job is to prevent air, fuel vapor, and combustion gases from leaking out where the manifold joins the engine. A good gasket ensures that the engine receives properly metered air and fuel, improving performance and efficiency.
Sold each, 6 required per vehicle.
Fits:
Porsche 911 S 1965 - 1973 (not Sportomatic)
Porsche 911 2.7L 1974 - 1977 911/83 engine

Without an effective gasket at the intake manifold, unmetered air can enter the engine or metered air can escape - leading to rough idling, poor fuel economy, and potential misfires. This gasket helps maintain consistent air charge delivery to each cylinder, supports stable combustion, and prevents vacuum leaks.
The intake manifold gasket operates in a harsh engine environment - exposed to heat cycles, vibration, and pressure changes. Over time, the original gasket material can harden, shrink, or deteriorate, leading to:
• Vacuum leaks and unmetered air entering the engine
• Poor idling or rough engine performance
• Decreased fuel efficiency
• Engine hesitation or misfire.
Replacing it with a fresh gasket restores proper engine breathing and helps maintain smooth performance and reliability.
Replace the intake manifold gasket if you notice:
• Rough idle or unpredictable engine behaviour
• Check engine light codes related to intake air leaks
• Decreased fuel efficiency
• Visible signs of gasket wear (hardening, cracking, deformation)
• Anytime the intake manifold is removed during maintenance

The induction system relies on sealed connections to ensure that all incoming air is accurately measured before entering the engine. A deteriorated or damaged gasket can allow unmetered air to bypass the system, leading to vacuum leaks, poor idle quality, reduced engine performance and inconsistent fuel mixture.
Replacing the gasket whenever the intake system or throttle body is removed is recommended to maintain optimum engine performance and prevent air leaks that can affect drivability.
Whether you're carrying out a routine service, rebuilding an engine or restoring a classic air-cooled Porsche, this OE Match gasket provides a reliable sealing solution for long-lasting performance.
What Does the Air Intake Pipe to Throttle Body Gasket Do?
This gasket forms an airtight seal between the air intake pipe and the throttle body.
Its primary functions include:
- Preventing unmetered air from entering the intake system.
- Maintaining correct intake system sealing.
- Supporting accurate air and fuel mixture.
- Helping ensure stable idle quality.
- Promoting smooth engine performance.
- Reducing the risk of vacuum leaks.
A properly sealing intake gasket is essential for efficient combustion and reliable engine operation.
Why Replace the Air Intake Pipe to Throttle Body Gasket?
Intake gaskets are continually exposed to engine heat, vibration and age, which can eventually cause them to harden, compress or deteriorate.
Common reasons for replacement include:
- Vacuum leaks.
- Hardened or brittle gasket material.
- Air leaks after throttle body removal.
- Engine rebuilds.
- Intake system servicing.
- Poor idle quality.
- Reduced engine performance.
- Preventative maintenance.
Replacing the gasket ensures a proper seal is restored and helps avoid future intake air leaks.
Symptoms of a Failing Intake Gasket
A worn or leaking throttle body gasket may result in:
- Rough or unstable idle.
- High or fluctuating idle speed.
- Hesitation during acceleration.
- Lean running conditions.
- Whistling or hissing noises from the intake.
- Reduced engine efficiency.
- Difficult engine tuning.
- Increased fuel consumption.
Replacing the gasket is a simple but important step in maintaining the performance of your Porsche's induction system.
Benefits
- Restores proper intake system sealing.
- Helps maintain stable idle quality.
- Improves engine efficiency.
- Reduces the risk of unmetered air entering the engine.
- Straightforward installation.
- Suitable for restoration and routine maintenance.
