Mounting strip for door step threshold rubber seal
The OE Match mounting strip is a U-shaped metal mounting channel designed for the door step threshold rubber seal on Porsche 356 models. This component sits beneath the rubber door threshold seal and helps hold it securely in place along the door opening.
Sold each, 2 required per car (one for each door)
Fits:
Porsche 356 - 1950 to 1955
Porsche 356A - 1955 to 1959
Porsche 356B - 1959 to 1963
Porsche 356C - 1963 to 1965
U-shaped, metal threshold rubber seal mounting strip finished in stove enamelled, gloss black
Diagram ref no 26
The mounting strip supports the door threshold rubber seal and ensures it stays firmly attached to the body.
By holding the seal securely, it helps prevent movement, protects the sill area and contributes to a clean and finished appearance of the door opening.
Replacing worn or corroded mounting strips restores the proper installation of the threshold rubber and helps maintain the integrity of the door sill trim.
Function
• Seal Retention: Holds the door threshold rubber seal securely in place
• Mounting Support: Provides a metal channel for attaching the rubber step seal
• Body Protection: Helps protect the door sill area from wear and moisture
• Restoration Fit: OE-style design ensures correct installation in classic Porsche 356 models
Threshold mounting strips are exposed to moisture, road dirt and decades of use. Over time they may corrode, bend or lose their ability to hold the rubber seal correctly. Replacing them ensures the door threshold rubber remains properly secured and helps preserve the original appearance and protection of the door sill area.
Consider replacing the mounting strip if you notice:
• Loose or poorly fitted door threshold rubber seal
• Corrosion or damage to the metal channel
• Missing or bent mounting strips
• During interior or body restoration of a Porsche 356
