Maintaining sufficient coolant is essential for controlling engine temperature. A low coolant level can reduce the cooling system's ability to transfer heat effectively and may allow air to enter the system, potentially resulting in unstable temperatures or overheating.
The coolant level sensor provides an important early warning so that coolant loss can be investigated before it develops into a more serious cooling-system problem. Over time, the sensor can become unreliable through age, repeated heat cycles, contamination, electrical faults or damage to its connector and wiring.
What This Product Does:
- Monitors coolant level within the expansion/header tank.
- Detects when coolant falls below the intended level.

Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:

Why Replacement Matters:
- The coolant level sensor provides an important warning when the cooling system begins losing coolant. A faulty sensor can create problems in two different ways.

- More importantly, a sensor that fails to detect an actual low coolant condition can prevent the driver from receiving an early warning.
- Coolant loss may result from a leaking hose, radiator, expansion tank, water pump, seal or another cooling-system component. Continuing to drive with insufficient coolant can lead to poor circulation, air entering the cooling circuit and eventual engine overheating.
- Severe overheating can cause expensive engine damage, including deterioration of seals and gaskets and damage to major engine components.
