What This Product Does
This hose forms part of the oil tank breathing circuit, providing a passage for gases and oil vapour. An intact, unobstructed connection supports ventilation without allowing vapour or oil mist to escape through damaged hose walls.
Functions
- Provides a passage within the tank ventilation circuit.
- Contains vapour along the intended hose route.
- Connects the associated breather fittings.
Technical Details
- Supplied part reference: 99320715002.
- Brand: OE Match.
- Assembly identification: oil tank lines 993 1994-98.
- Engine/model notation supplied with the diagram: M64.20/21/22M64.23/24.
Symptoms of Fault
- Visible splitting, hardening or deterioration of the hose.
- Oily residue near the hose ends or surrounding fittings.
- A softened or collapsed hose section.
- Hissing near a leaking breather connection.
Why Replacement Matters
A deteriorated hose can interrupt the intended ventilation path or allow leakage. Renewing a confirmed faulty component addresses that defect; inspect neighbouring hoses, retaining clips and connection points during the same repair. OE Match focuses on Porsche replacement applications, using original references and vehicle specifications to guide component selection.
FAQs
- Does exhaust smoke prove this hose has failed?
No. Smoke has several possible causes, so inspect the ventilation circuit and establish the fault before replacing components. - Should nearby hoses also be renewed?
Check their condition first. Similar exposure to heat and oil vapour can leave adjoining hoses hardened or damaged. - What should be checked before fitting?
Confirm the vehicle application, compare the original reference and examine the mating fittings and retaining hardware.
