Information
Piston Set, Forged JE 2.0, 24mm Pin.
Build, rebuild, or upgrade a compatible engine with this OE Match Forged JE 2.0 Piston Set with 24mm Pin. Featuring high-quality JE forged pistons with a 24mm wrist/gudgeon pin specification, these piston sets are designed for compatible 2.0 VW-based engine configurations where increased strength, durability, and dependable performance are required.
JE Forgings are made from 2618 Aluminium, They have a 0 offset with extra material under the top for the valve pockets. This set comes with a 34.6mm Compression Height and the 24mm Pin. The slightly smaller compression height allows you to easily build small stroked engines 71 to 78mm with the Standard length rods that have the 24mm pins giving you the option to Build 2.3L and bigger Engines.
Engine Type : Porsche 914, VW Type 4, Bus or Sandrail.
Stroke: 71 to 78mm
Pistons: Forged JE
Compression Height: 34.60mm
Pin: 24mm
Set includes: 4 pistons, 4 pins, 4 clips and a set of rings
Forged pistons are manufactured from high-strength aluminium alloy using a forging process that produces a dense and durable structure. This construction makes them particularly suitable for performance-oriented engines, upgraded builds, and applications subjected to increased combustion pressures, temperatures, and engine speeds. During operation, each piston contains combustion pressure within the cylinder and transfers this force through the 24mm piston pin and connecting rod to the crankshaft.

What This Product Does:
- Forms a critical part of the engine's combustion chambers.
- Contains combustion pressure within each cylinder.
- Transfers combustion force through the connecting rods to the crankshaft.
- Features a 24mm piston pin specification for compatible connecting rods.
- Uses forged JE construction for increased strength and durability.
- Helps maintain effective cylinder compression when correctly installed.
- Supports efficient combustion and consistent engine performance.
- Provides a strong foundation for performance and rebuilt 2.0 engine configurations.
- Replaces worn, damaged, or unsuitable existing pistons.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
- Low or uneven cylinder compression.
- Excessive engine oil consumption.
- Blue smoke from the exhaust.
- Reduced engine power or poor performance.
- Excessive crankcase pressure or blow-by.
- Piston slap, knocking, or abnormal internal engine noises.
- Scoring or excessive wear on the piston skirts.
- Cracked, burnt, or otherwise damaged piston crowns.
- Worn, cracked, or broken piston ring lands.
- Excessive wear around the piston pin bore.
- Cylinder wall scoring or abnormal bore wear.
- Poor results during compression or leak-down testing.
Why Replacement Matters:
- Pistons are among the most highly stressed components within an engine and are fundamental to compression, combustion, and power production. Worn piston skirts, damaged ring lands, cracked crowns, excessive pin-bore wear, or incorrect clearances can compromise cylinder sealing and piston stability. This may result in reduced power, excessive oil consumption, increased blow-by, abnormal engine noise, and accelerated wear of the cylinders and other internal components.
- Correct piston and pin compatibility is particularly important in a performance engine build. The 24mm piston pin must be correctly matched to the connecting rods and associated components. Incorrect dimensions, machining, compression geometry, or assembly clearances can cause excessive wear, piston seizure, piston-to-valve contact, cylinder damage, or severe engine failure.
- Replacing worn or unsuitable components with the correct OE Match Forged JE 2.0 Piston Set with 24mm Pin – VW103T4PJE, VW104T4PJE, or VW105T4PJE provides a durable foundation for restoring compression and achieving dependable engine performance. The forged JE construction offers increased strength for compatible performance and engine rebuild applications when correctly selected, measured, machined, and assembled.
