- Porsche 356 1950-55
The OE MATCH Windscreen Wiper Blade is a replacement front wiper blade designed for the classic Porsche 356 Pre-A, manufactured between 1950 and 1955.
Fits:- Porsche 356 Pre-A 1950-55
Diagram Ref No 12
Produced as an OE-style replacement, this component is intended to restore the windscreen wiping function of the original Porsche 356 Pre-A wiper system while maintaining an appearance appropriate to the vehicle's period.
The Porsche 356 Pre-A is one of the most historically significant models in Porsche's development. Its distinctive bodywork, compact windscreen and traditional exterior fittings are important elements of its classic design.
The windscreen wiper assembly is a relatively small but essential part of this arrangement.
Although often overlooked during restoration, correctly functioning wiper blades are important for maintaining visibility in rain, road spray and other challenging driving conditions.
The OE MATCH wiper blade 113955425B-SL provides the wiping contact between the front windscreen and the wiper arm mechanism.
As the wiper arm moves across the glass, the blade's wiping edge removes water and surface moisture, helping maintain a clear view of the road.
For effective operation, the blade must remain in contact with the windscreen and move smoothly across the glass.
Over time, wiper blades deteriorate because of sunlight, temperature changes, exposure to moisture and repeated use.
The wiping edge can become hard, cracked, split or distorted, reducing its ability to clear water effectively.
Worn blades may leave streaks or smears, skip across the glass or produce squeaking and chattering noises.
A damaged blade can also place unnecessary stress on the wiper system and, in severe cases, allow exposed components to contact the windscreen.
Replacing a deteriorated blade with the OE MATCH 113955425B-SL helps restore reliable wiping performance and maintain the original-style appearance of the Porsche 356 Pre-A.
This replacement is particularly suitable for routine wiper maintenance, classic Porsche restoration projects and refurbishment of an original windscreen wiping system.
What This Product Does:
The wiper blade is responsible for clearing moisture and light contamination from the front windscreen.
Its main functions include:
- Removes Rainwater: Sweeps water away from the driver's field of vision.
- Clears Road Spray: Helps maintain visibility when driving on wet roads.
- Reduces Windscreen Smearing: Uses its wiping edge to move water and surface contamination away from the viewing area.
- Maintains Clear Visibility: Supports safer driving in poor weather.
- Provides Windscreen Contact: Works with the wiper arm to maintain contact with the glass.
- Supports Smooth Wiper Operation: Helps the wiping system move across the windscreen without unnecessary skipping or juddering.
- Preserves Classic Appearance: Maintains an original-style wiper arrangement appropriate to the Porsche 356 Pre-A.
- Replaces Deteriorated Components: Restores wiping performance when the original blade is worn.
- Supports Vehicle Maintenance: Provides an important replacement during routine servicing or restoration.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
Wiper blades naturally deteriorate with age and use.
On classic vehicles that may spend extended periods in storage, the rubber can also harden or distort even when the blades are used infrequently.
Typical symptoms:
- Water lines remaining after the blade passes.
- Narrow streaks across the driver's viewing area.
- Sections of the windscreen not being cleared.
- Repeated streaks in the same position.
- Reduced visibility during rainfall.
- Smears remaining after wiping.
- A thin water film across the windscreen.
- Cloudy or blurred visibility.
- Poor clearing of road spray.
- Repeated wiping required to obtain a clear view.
- Squeaking when the wipers operate.
- High-pitched noise across the glass.
- Increased noise during light rain.
- Squeaking after the vehicle has been stored.
Why Replacement Matters:
The windscreen wiper blade is an important safety-related maintenance component.
Its condition directly influences the driver's ability to see clearly during wet weather.
Replacing a worn blade helps restore effective water removal and maintain confidence when driving a classic Porsche.
- Restores Clear Visibility: Helps remove rainwater and road spray effectively.
- Reduces Streaking: Replaces a worn wiping edge that leaves water lines on the glass.
- Improves Wet-Weather Driving: Helps maintain a clearer field of vision.
- Reduces Smearing: Supports more consistent water removal.
- Helps Prevent Chattering: Replaces blade material that may be causing uneven movement.
- Reduces Unwanted Noise: Can eliminate squeaking caused by a deteriorated blade.
- Protects the Windscreen: Reduces the risk of damage caused by severely worn or exposed blade components.
- Maintains Classic Appearance: Supports an original-style Porsche 356 Pre-A wiper arrangement.
- Suitable for Restoration: Provides a replacement for worn, missing or unsuitable blades.
- OE MATCH Replacement: Offers an OE-style component for the specified classic Porsche application.
