Oil pump tab washer.
Oil pump tab washer designed to secure and lock the oil pump fastener on classic Porsche engines. Although small, this locking washer plays a critical role in preventing oil pump hardware from loosening due to engine vibration and repeated heat cycles.

By acting as a mechanical locking device, it helps keep the oil pump firmly in position, supporting stable oil pressure and reliable engine lubrication. Proper retention of the oil pump is essential for long-term engine protection and performance.
Tab washers are intended to be bent into place once. Reusing a previously bent washer can cause metal fatigue and reduced holding strength, increasing the risk of fasteners backing out. Replacing the washer during service is a simple, low-cost way to safeguard engine reliability and prevent premature wear.
When to replace:
• During oil pump removal, refit, or engine rebuild
• If the washer tab has been previously bent or straightened
