Information
Split bushing removal tool. 1 req'd per lifetime.
Fits:
Porsche 911 / 912 / 930 1965-89
Porsche 964 / 993 1989-98
Porsche 944 / 968 / 924 1976-95 w/ aluminium control arms
Easily removes the following bushings:
• 911 / 930 / 912 trailing arm bushing
• 964 / 993 front lower control arm rear bushing
• 944 front lower control arm front bushing (aluminium arms)
It used to be a difficult task
This clever tool is a real time saver that makes easy work of removing split bushings. Doing the job with the arms still on the car for 911, 964, and 993 saves time and labor.
Split bushings are actually two separate bushings, each pressed in from opposite sides of the arm. Removing them requires driving them out from the parting line where they meet, in the center of the arm. This has traditionally been a difficult job that requires removing the arm and fumbling with a punch to try and drive out the bushings from the center.
Easy & quick
This tool makes it easy to engage the parting line and drive out the bushing. It is so easy that the job can be performed without removing the arm from the 911, 964, and 993.
Pro Mechanics and DIY'ers alike will appreciate the time saving this tool provides.
Combine with bushing installation tools part #2020904 to complete the job.

Wishbone control arm with lower ball joint
The Porsche Genuine OE Control Arm ‘Coffin Arm’ (Slim Type) is an original factory lower suspension control arm / wishbone assembly designed for the Porsche 986 Boxster and Porsche 996 generation 911 models. Commonly known as the “Coffin Arm” due to its distinctive shape, this suspension arm forms a key part of the multi-link suspension system used on water-cooled Porsche models. The slim-type version is fitted with an integrated lower ball joint and suspension bushes for precise suspension geometry and handling performance.
Fits:
Porsche 986 Boxster 1997 - 2004 FRONT or REAR
Porsche 996 C2 / C4 / C4S 1998 - 2004 FRONT or REAR
Porsche 996 Turbo 2000 - 2005 FRONT or REAR (non adjustable)
Porsche 996 GT3 1999 - 2002 MKI REAR
Porsche 996 GT3 2003 - 2005 MKII REAR (non adjustable)
Please note this arm is not adjustable (not motorsport - M004 option)
Diagram ref no 21
The coffin arm controls wheel movement and suspension geometry while allowing smooth suspension articulation during steering, braking, and cornering.
It connects the wheel carrier to the chassis/subframe and works together with the shock absorber and track control arms to maintain:
• Precise steering response
• Stable wheel alignment
• Ride comfort
• Porsche handling characteristics
The integrated bushes absorb vibration and road harshness, while the lower ball joint allows controlled movement of the suspension assembly.
Functions & Technical Role
• Suspension geometry control: Maintains correct wheel alignment and movement
• Integrated lower ball joint: Allows smooth articulation during suspension travel
• Vibration damping: Suspension bushes reduce harshness and road vibration
• Handling stability: Supports accurate steering and chassis balance0
• OEM engineering: Manufactured to Porsche factory specifications for exact fitment and durability
Fitment / Position on Car
• Fitting position: Front or rear axle depending on model/application
• Side: Left = Right
• System: Suspension and steering geometry control
Typically installed as: Front lower control arm or Rear lower control arm (GT/Turbo applications)
The coffin arm plays a major role in steering precision, suspension stability, and tyre wear control. Worn bushes or ball joints can negatively affect handling, ride comfort, and alignment accuracy.
When to replace
• Knocking or clunking from suspension
• Excessive play in the ball joint or bushes
• Uneven tyre wear or poor wheel alignment
• Vague steering or unstable handling
• During suspension rebuild or overhaul

Motorsport Control Arms, Set Of 2.
The OE Match Motorsport Control Arms, Set of 2 are high-performance suspension components engineered to deliver improved handling precision, steering response and chassis control for performance-oriented Porsche applications. Designed to motorsport standards and manufactured from high-strength materials, these control arms provide enhanced rigidity and durability compared to conventional suspension arms while maintaining precise wheel alignment under demanding driving conditions.
NOTE: If upgrading to these control arms from standard arms on a non-GT2 or GT3 model, you will need to purchase the necessary washers and nuts to connect the arm to the flange. Two of each are required per arm. You’ll be prompted to add these to your basket during checkout.
Fits:
Supplied as a matched pair, the control arms form a critical part of the vehicle's suspension geometry, connecting the wheel hub assembly to the chassis and controlling wheel movement throughout the suspension travel range. Their motorsport-inspired design helps optimise suspension performance during fast road driving, track use and performance driving environments.

Their motorsport-inspired design helps optimise suspension performance during fast road driving, track use and performance driving environments.
What This Product Does:
- Connects the wheel hub assembly to the vehicle chassis.
- Controls wheel movement throughout suspension travel.
- Maintains accurate suspension geometry and wheel alignment.
- Improves steering precision and driver feedback.
- Enhances vehicle stability during cornering and braking.
- Reduces unwanted suspension flex under load.
- Supports consistent tyre contact with the road surface.
- Improves overall handling performance and vehicle control.
Symptoms Of Wear Or Failure:
- Excessive play in the suspension system.
- Clunking or knocking noises over bumps.
- Vague or imprecise steering response.
- Uneven or accelerated tyre wear.
- Vehicle pulling to one side.
- Instability during braking or cornering.
- Poor wheel alignment that cannot be maintained.
- Excessive vibration through the steering wheel.
- Visible damage, corrosion or bending of the control arm.
- Deteriorated or worn bushings and joints.
Why Replacement Matters:
- Control arms are subjected to continual suspension loads, impacts, cornering forces and road vibrations. Over time, wear of the arm itself, associated bushings or ball joints can compromise suspension geometry and vehicle handling characteristics.
- A worn or damaged control arm can negatively affect steering accuracy, tyre wear and overall vehicle stability. If left unresolved, excessive suspension movement can accelerate wear of other suspension components and significantly reduce driving confidence and safety.
- Replacing worn control arms with OE Match Motorsport Control Arms restores precise suspension geometry, improves steering feel and enhances chassis performance. Manufactured to high standards and designed for demanding driving conditions, these performance control arms provide increased durability, sharper handling characteristics and reliable long-term operation, making them an ideal upgrade for Porsche enthusiasts seeking improved suspension performance.
