What This Product Does
This pipe forms part of the engine coolant breather circuit. It provides the connection used by that circuit within the cooling system.
Technical Details
- Brand: OE Match.
- Component identification: cooling water breather pipe / breather line.
- Engine identifiers recorded for this part in the supplied diagram: 4620, 4640, CWAA and CXNA.
Symptoms of Fault
- Moisture or dried coolant deposits around pipe connections.
- A sweet coolant odour following a journey.
- Coolant level falling between checks.
- Visible damage or leakage from the pipe or its fittings.
- Temperature increases or coolant warnings associated with coolant loss.
Why Replacement Matters
A damaged breather pipe or leaking connection can allow coolant to escape. Renewing a confirmed faulty component addresses the leak; inspecting adjacent connections at the same time helps identify other sources of seepage. These symptoms can also originate elsewhere in the cooling system, so diagnosis should precede replacement.
FAQs
How should a suspected leak be checked?
Inspect the pipe and connection points for dampness or deposits. A cooling-system pressure test can help locate leaks that are difficult to see.
What should be checked before selecting this pipe?
Confirm the vehicle's engine identification and compare reference 94610602622 with the component being replaced.

This OE Match cooling water breather pipe is a direct replacement for the original Porsche coolant vent line fitted to selected Porsche 970 Panamera and 958 Cayenne V8 models. Installed within the engine cooling circuit, the breather pipe connects key coolant passages and allows trapped air and coolant vapour to be vented correctly through the system. Proper coolant venting is essential on high-performance Porsche V8 engines to prevent air pockets, maintain stable coolant flow, and support efficient engine temperature regulation.
Fits:

The cooling water breather pipe vents and circulates coolant within the engine cooling system, helping eliminate trapped air and maintain correct coolant pressure and flow throughout the engine.
Function
• Vents trapped air from the cooling system
• Supports proper coolant circulation and pressure regulation
• Helps maintain stable engine operating temperature
• Reduces risk of air pockets within cooling system
• Protects against coolant leaks and overheating
Cooling system hoses and breather pipes are constantly exposed to heat, coolant pressure, and vibration. Over time, the material can harden, crack, or become porous, increasing the risk of coolant leaks and air entering the cooling system. Replacing ageing breather pipes helps maintain reliable cooling system operation and prevents potential engine overheating issues.
When to replace
• Visible coolant leaks or staining
• Cracked or brittle coolant hose material
• Cooling system pressure loss
• Overheating or fluctuating coolant temperatures
• During preventative cooling system maintenance
• During engine or coolant hose servicing
