What the Throttle Body Does
The throttle body is a key component of the engine intake system. It regulates the amount of air entering the engine based on accelerator pedal input. In modern Porsche engines, the throttle body is electronically controlled, working in conjunction with the engine control unit to optimise performance, fuel efficiency and emissions.
The throttle body:
- Controls engine air intake
- Regulates idle speed

The throttle body seal prevents air leaks between the throttle housing and intake manifold, while the mounting bolts secure the unit with correct clamping force.
Why Throttle Bodies Fail
