What This Product Does:
The outer door sill / rocker panel covers the structural side rail of the vehicle just below the door opening, it provides:
- Protection of the side bodywork from rocks/debris and rust accumulation at a common problem area (the door sills).
- A mounting surface or finished outer skin for the side of the vehicle — forming the visible “sill” area when the door is open/closed.
- A structural part of the body that contributes to side-impact strength, rigidity and correct body alignment.
- Being factory primed means you get a clean, undamaged panel ready to paint and finish — ideal for restoration, collision repair, or when the original sill is rusted, deformed or has previous poor repairs.
When You Might Need Replacement:
