OE Match power steering pump hose, a replacement component for repairs involving an ageing or leaking pump hose.
Fits
Porsche 928 1978-86
Check fitment for your specific vehicle (model, year, engine) before ordering.
What This Product Does
The hose carries fluid within the hydraulic power steering circuit at the pump. Its condition and connections matter when investigating fluid loss or servicing the steering hydraulics. This component is a hose, rather than a replacement pump or steering cooler.
Functions
- Provides a fluid passage within the pump circuit.
- Contains steering fluid along its installed route.
- Replaces a deteriorated hose when leakage or damage has been confirmed.
Technical Details
- Brand: OE Match.
- Part reference: 92834744501.
- Component: power steering pump hose.
- Listed engine applications: 4.5L and 4.7L, subject to the model and year details above.
Symptoms of Fault
- Wet patches or seepage around the hose and its connections.
- A falling power steering fluid level.
- Visible cracking, hardening or swelling of the hose.
- Increased steering effort or pump whining associated with low fluid.
These symptoms do not establish that the hose is the cause. Inspect neighbouring connections, seals and hydraulic components before deciding which parts require renewal.
Why Replacement Matters
Renewing a confirmed leaking or damaged hose addresses a source of fluid loss. Check adjoining fittings and supporting components during the repair, as an unresolved leak elsewhere can leave the same symptoms after installation. OE Match focuses on replacement components for Porsche applications, with original references and vehicle specifications used to assess suitability.
FAQs
Should other hoses be renewed at the same time?
Inspect them individually. Further replacement may be appropriate where neighbouring hoses also show deterioration or leakage.
Is flushing required?
Assess the fluid condition and follow the vehicle-specific service procedure. Flushing is particularly relevant if contamination is present.
What should be checked during fitting?
Confirm the routing and connections, avoid twisting the hose and use the specified seals or sealing washers where required. Check the completed repair for leaks.
