This O-ring seals the junction between the air conditioning condenser (radiator) and associated refrigerant pipes, preventing leaks of refrigerant gas.
By maintaining a sealed system, it ensures proper cooling performance, system pressure, and efficiency of the vehicle’s climate control system.
Functions & Technical Role
• Refrigerant sealing: Prevents gas leaks at A/C connections
• Pressure retention: Maintains correct system pressure
• Thermal resistance: Designed to withstand heat and cooling cycles
• System protection: Prevents contamination and moisture ingress
• OEM precision: Exact dimensions (approx. 23.8 x 2.4 mm) for proper fitment
Fitment / Position on car
• Fitting position: Air conditioning system
• Location: Between A/C condenser (radiator) and refrigerant pipes/hoses
• System: Climate control / air conditioning refrigerant circuit
O-rings in A/C systems are exposed to pressure, refrigerant chemicals, and temperature cycles, which can cause them to harden or fail over time. A worn or damaged seal can lead to:
• Loss of refrigerant gas
• Reduced or no air conditioning performance
• Increased system pressure issues
• Costly A/C system repairs
Replacing with a genuine Porsche OE O-ring ensures proper sealing, restores cooling efficiency, and protects the entire A/C system.
