What This Product Does
The speed nut forms part of the engine oil cooler installation. It provides a retained fastening point for the associated cooler assembly hardware, helping the relevant component remain correctly secured when the specified screw or fixing is installed.
Functions
- Provides a fastening point within the engine oil cooler assembly
- Retains the corresponding fixing after installation
- Replaces a missing, damaged or weakened original speed nut
Technical Details
- Genuine Porsche component
- Porsche part number: 99950722902
- Part type: speed nut
- Assembly: engine lubrication oil cooler
- Diagram quantity: four per applicable assembly
Symptoms of Fault
- Original speed nut is missing during disassembly
- Fastener no longer grips securely
- Nut is distorted, corroded or damaged
- Associated oil cooler hardware cannot be tightened correctly
- Movement or looseness is present at the relevant mounting point
Why Replacement Matters
A damaged or missing speed nut can prevent the associated fixing from being secured as intended. Replacing it with the correct Porsche part helps preserve the original fastening arrangement and avoids reusing hardware that has lost its grip or become distorted. Inspect the adjoining screws, brackets and mounting points while the assembly is accessible.
