The hinge provides the pivoting connection between the rear lid and the vehicle body, allowing the lid to open and close smoothly while maintaining correct alignment with the body aperture, latch and surrounding panels.
It is supplied in a prime-coated GRV finish, ready for preparation and painting as required during restoration or body repair.
What This Product Does:
The rear lid hinge supports and guides the rear lid through its opening and closing movement.
Its main functions include:
- Providing a controlled pivot point for the rear lid
- Supporting the right-hand side of the lid
- Maintaining correct rear-lid alignment
- Helping maintain even panel gaps
- Allowing the latch to engage correctly
- Working with the gas-pressure springs that support the lid
- Helping the weather seal compress evenly
- Preventing unnecessary movement or twisting of the lid
The left and right hinges work together to keep the rear lid square and properly positioned throughout its travel.
