Unlike many sports cars where the handbrake is positioned centrally, the handbrake location in these Porsche models means drivers regularly step over it when entering or exiting the vehicle. Rennline's intelligently engineered lower-profile design creates noticeably more clearance, making access easier while maintaining excellent grip and functionality.
Machined from solid billet aluminium and available in either a clear anodised or black anodised finish with distinctive black inlaid rubber grip rings, this premium upgrade blends durability, comfort and understated styling into one precision-engineered component.
Installation is quick and straightforward, using the original mounting point and requiring only basic hand tools.
What Does the Handbrake Handle Do?
The handbrake handle provides the driver with positive control of the parking brake while also contributing to the overall ergonomics and appearance of the interior.
Its primary functions include:
- Providing a secure grip for parking brake operation.
- Improving driver comfort.
- Enhancing interior aesthetics.
- Delivering positive control during operation.
- Complementing performance-inspired interior upgrades.
- Improving access when entering and exiting the vehicle.
A well-designed handbrake handle enhances both functionality and the driving experience.
Why Upgrade the Original Handbrake Handle?
Factory handbrake handles can become worn over time and may not provide the premium appearance or ergonomics desired by enthusiasts.
Common reasons for upgrading include:
- Worn or damaged factory handle.
- Refreshing an ageing interior.
- Completing an aluminium interior theme.
- Improving cabin ergonomics.
- Creating additional clearance during entry and exit.
- Enhancing grip and tactile feel.
- Adding premium motorsport-inspired styling.
The Rennline handle delivers both practical and visual improvements without compromising everyday usability.
Installation Recommendations
Installation is straightforward and can typically be completed in minutes using basic hand tools.
For the best overall result, it is recommended to inspect:
- Handbrake mechanism.
- Handbrake cable adjustment.
- Centre console trim.
- Parking brake button.
- Handbrake gaiter or leather boot.
- Interior trim surrounding the handbrake assembly.
This is also an excellent opportunity to upgrade other interior controls and trim for a cohesive appearance.
