Why Replacement Matters:
- Gearbox mounts must keep the transmission securely located while controlling the forces generated by the drivetrain. When conventional mounts deteriorate, excessive gearbox movement can develop.
- This unwanted movement may be felt as clunks, jolts or changes in gear lever position during acceleration, braking and gear changes. It can also place additional movement and stress on associated components such as gear linkages, hoses, wiring and drivetrain connections.
- For performance driving, excessive transmission movement can reduce the precision of the connection between the driver and drivetrain. A gearbox that moves significantly under load may contribute to less consistent shifting and a less controlled response when transitioning on and off the throttle.
- The semi-solid design of this mount set reduces compliance, helping hold the gearbox more securely relative to the chassis. This can improve drivetrain response and provide a firmer, more direct feel.
