The RENNtorq Centre Lock Tool V2 is an innovative system for Porsche centre lock nut removal and installation. The system uses a precision torque multiplier, in conjunction with a custom reaction arm specifically sized for 718/976/997/991/992 applications, to greatly reduce the amount of input torque required to loosen and tighten the factory centre lock nut. The tool has been tested on the 992 GT3, and 992 GT3RS with magnesium wheels. For 992 GT3RS with aluminum wheels please contact us for a specific solution.
A motorsport grade torque multiplier is used to convert 95 lb-ft of manual input torque to 443 lb-ft of output torque. The multiplier has a 1/2" drive input, and a 3/4" drive output which allows for a direct connection to the factory supplied socket. Each multiplier is tested and certified to a specific multiplication factor (range of 4.70:1 - 4.75:1) which allows you to precisely calculate the input torque required to secure the centre lock nut. The custom reaction arm counteracts the torque applied to the nut by applying a counter force to the spoke of the wheel. The reaction arm is covered with a polymer material strong enough to apply the required force, but soft enough to eliminate any risk of wheel damage.
The system allows you to easily remove the centre lock nut with just a conventional 20" long, 1/2" drive breaker bar/torque wrench with an amount of force similar to what is required to remove a lug on a car with a regular five lug bolt system. The RENNtorq tool requires only moderate pressure be applied to the brake pedal inside the car, meaning the car does NOT need to be running, and you do not require the assistance of a second person to either press the brake hard or hold the steering wheel steady.
The price includes a sturdy carrying case, custom certification for each tool, and shipping with USPS priority service (within the USA).
With this tool you will now look forward to wheel changes on your 976 Panamera/GT3/GT3 RS/Turbo S/GTS/GT4 RS.
Note: The shearing of the output drive is not a defect but an intentional design feature. It is engineered to protect the internal gears of the multiplier from damage if the tool is used beyond its 750 lb·ft torque limit.
