Particularly well suited to the Porsche 914, the Le Mans is one of the lightest seats in the Retro Trim range and is a popular choice for vintage race, performance road and restomod applications.
The latest design provides a lower, less forward seating
position and has been developed for easier installation with the original
Porsche 914 seat slider bracket.
This version is intended for cars retaining standard 3-point seatbelts. Although the seat frame incorporates waist belt openings, it is not supplied with the rosettes used for 5-point harness installations.

Classic Styling with Improved Support
The Le Mans has been developed to provide greater support than the original OEM seat while maintaining the simple, lightweight appearance appropriate for a classic car interior.
Its supportive profile helps hold the driver more securely during cornering without introducing the appearance or restrictive shape of a modern competition bucket seat.
This makes it particularly suitable for owners who want improved support and driving comfort while retaining a classic interior.
Designed for Standard 3-Point Seatbelts
This version of the Le Mans is specifically intended for cars using standard 3-point seatbelts.
The seat frames incorporate waist belt openings as part of their construction, but this version does not include the rosettes required for the 5-point harness configuration.
This makes it an ideal choice for road-focused classic cars where the original-style seatbelt arrangement is being retained.
Improved Porsche 914 Seating Position
The latest Le Mans design has been revised to provide a lower and less forward seating position.
This is particularly beneficial in the Porsche 914, where driver position and available cabin space are important considerations.
The revised design provides:
- Lower seating position
- Less forward driving position
- Improved driver support
- Better integration with the Porsche 914 interior
- Easier installation onto the OEM 914 slider bracket
- Classic appearance suitable for road-driven cars
Porsche 914 Bolt-In Upgrade
The Le Mans is particularly popular as an upgrade for the Porsche 914.
The redesigned frame makes installation onto the original Porsche 914 slider bracket considerably easier, allowing the factory-style seat adjustment arrangement to be retained while upgrading the seat itself.
For Porsche 914 owners looking for a lightweight seat with a more supportive profile, the Le Mans provides a practical alternative to an ageing original seat.
Lightweight Handmade Construction
Each Retro Trim Le Mans seat is handmade around a lightweight frame.
Fire-resistant foam is combined with Duralastic belts within the seat structure to provide a comfortable but supportive seating platform.
The Duralastic system helps support the occupant without relying on excessive amounts of foam, contributing to the lightweight construction while maintaining comfort for regular road use and longer journeys.
Have Your Seats Upholstered Locally
Purchasing the Le Mans as a seat frame kit allows you to have the upholstery completed by your preferred local trimmer or interior restoration specialist.
This gives you complete control over the finished appearance and makes it easier to match the seats to the rest of the vehicle's interior.
Having the upholstery completed locally also allows the seats and other interior components to be finished together as part of the same restoration project.
Why Choose the Retro Trim Le Mans?
The Le Mans is designed for classic car owners who want improved support and a lower driving position without losing the character of a period-style interior.
For a road-driven Porsche 914 retaining standard 3-point seatbelts, it provides an effective combination of lightweight construction, improved ergonomics and classic styling.
Key advantages include:
- Lightweight seat construction
- Handmade design
- Classic sports seat appearance
- Improved support compared with OEM seats
- Designed for standard 3-point seatbelts
- Lower seating position
- Less forward seating position
- Improved installation with the Porsche 914 OEM slider bracket
- Fire-resistant foam Duralastic support belts
- Suitable for regular road use
- Ready for bespoke upholstery
- Ideal for restorations and restomods
Other Classic Car Applications
Although particularly well suited to the Porsche 914, the Le Mans seat has also been installed in a variety of other classic cars.
Applications have included:
- Porsche 914
- Porsche 904 replicas
- Triumph TR6
- Classic Mini / Mini Cooper
Installation requirements will vary between vehicles, and alternative or custom mounting arrangements may be required outside the Porsche 914 application.
Le Mans Porsche 914 Classic Seat Frame Kits
The Retro Trim Le Mans Seat Frame Kit provides an ideal seating upgrade for Porsche 914 owners looking for a lightweight, supportive classic sports seat while retaining standard 3-point seatbelts.
Its revised design positions the driver lower and less forward while making installation with the original Porsche 914 slider bracket easier. Combined with fire-resistant foam and Duralastic support, the Le Mans provides a balance between driver support, comfort and classic styling.
For Porsche 914 restoration and restomod projects, supplying the Le Mans as a frame kit also allows the upholstery to be tailored precisely to the vehicle, from period-inspired finishes to completely bespoke interiors.
