Information
Shock absorber bump stop. Rear axle.
The Porsche Genuine OE Rear Shock Absorber Bump Stop (Part No. 99133310502) is an original factory rear suspension buffer / additional spring element designed for Porsche 991 models equipped with PASM (Porsche Active Suspension Management). Mounted on the rear shock absorber assembly, this component acts as a protective cushion at the end of suspension travel, helping absorb heavy impacts and preventing the suspension from bottoming out. Porsche also refers to it as an additional spring or shock rubber stop.
Sold individually, 2 required - fits left or right suspension strut
Fits:
For cars with PASM
Porsche 991.1 Carrera 2012 - 2016
Porsche 991.2 Carrera 2017 - 2019
Porsche 991 Turbo 2014 -2021
Diagram ref no 8
The bump stop compresses during extreme suspension movement, cushioning the suspension when the shock absorber approaches full compression. This helps protect the damper, spring assembly, and chassis from excessive impact forces.
On PASM-equipped vehicles, the bump stop also contributes to maintaining the correct suspension characteristics and ride quality under dynamic driving conditions.
Functions & Technical Role
• Suspension protection: Prevents harsh bottoming-out of the rear suspension
• Impact absorption: Cushions heavy suspension compression loads
• Ride quality support: Reduces harsh impacts and vibration transfer
• PASM compatibility: Designed specifically for electronically controlled PASM suspension systems
• OEM precision: Engineered to Porsche factory specifications for exact fit and damping characteristics
Performance-oriented Porsche suspensions often use progressive bump stops that function as a secondary spring during heavy suspension compression.
Fitment / Position on car
• Fitting position: Rear axle
• Location: Mounted on rear shock absorber / damper assembly
• Side: Left = Right
• System: Rear suspension and damping system
The rear bump stop protects the suspension and shock absorber from damage during heavy compression. It also helps maintain ride comfort, handling stability, and proper PASM suspension performance.
When to replace
• Suspension bottoming-out or harsh rear impacts
• Cracked, collapsed, or deteriorated foam/rubber
• Knocking noises from the rear suspension
• During shock absorber replacement or suspension overhaul
• Reduced ride quality or suspension control

• Suspension support: Provides upper mounting support for the rear shock absorber assembly
• Load distribution: Helps distribute suspension forces into the chassis
• Vibration control: Assists in reducing vibration transfer through the suspension system
• PASM compatibility: Designed for Porsche Active Suspension Management systems
• OEM precision: Manufactured to Porsche factory tolerances for exact fit and handling performance
Fitment / Position on car
• Fitting position: Rear axle
• Location: Upper section of rear shock absorber / spring assembly
• System: Rear suspension / damping system
Suspension mounting components are constantly subjected to:
• Road impacts
• Suspension movement
• Vibration and load transfer
Over time, wear or deterioration can lead to:
• Suspension noise or knocking
• Reduced ride quality
• Excessive movement in the damper assembly
• Poor handling stability
Replacing worn components with genuine Porsche OE parts restores correct suspension operation and preserves factory driving dynamics.

Diagram ref no
The upper base supports the upper section of the rear shock absorber assembly, helping position and stabilise the suspension components within the rear axle setup. It works together with the shock absorber, spring, and mounting hardware to ensure proper damping operation, load distribution, and vibration isolation. On PASM-equipped cars, it also supports the electronically controlled damper system.
