Information
SOLEX-40PII-4 Carburetor 32mm Venturi guide funnel.
Venturi Guide Funnel / Air Inlet Sleeve - part number 61610093000 - is a precision-cast 32 mm air guide insert designed for use in Solex carburetors fitted to Porsche 356 and 912 engines. This venturi element controls and accelerates incoming air through the carburetor throat, optimizing pressure drop and improving air-fuel atomization for smooth, balanced engine performance.
Sold each, 2 required per vehicle.
Fits:
Porsche 356B/C 1600 S90/SC 1960 - 1965
Porsche 912 1965 - 1969
Diagram ref no 36
The OE Match venturi perfectly replicates the internal taper, contour, and surface finish of the original Porsche component. Its precision-machined dimensions ensure accurate airflow calibration and consistent response across all engine speeds.
• Diameter: 32 mm
• Function: Shapes and accelerates airflow through the carburetor venturi
• Fitment: Porsche 356 / 912 engines with Solex carburetors
• Position: Carburetor air intake throat
• Benefits: Restores original flow efficiency, enhances atomization, improves throttle response
• Installation: Press-fit into carburetor body; ensure correct orientation for airflow direction
Ideal for carburetor rebuilds, tuning, or period-correct restorations, this venturi restores authentic drivability, throttle smoothness, and performance efficiency in classic air-cooled Porsche engines.
Venturi inserts are critical for maintaining the proper airflow characteristics within the carburetor. Over time, the original funnels can suffer from corrosion, deformation, or buildup of carbon and fuel residue, leading to poor mixture quality and reduced performance.
Replace this part when:
• Performing a carburetor rebuild or tuning service
• The original venturi shows wear, pitting, or distortion
• Upgrading to restore original performance calibration
• Replacing damaged or missing venturi sleeves
Installing a new 32 mm Venturi Funnel ensures consistent airflow, crisp throttle response, and the precise carburetor performance your classic Porsche was engineered for.
