We strongly recommend replacing the power steering pump at the same time as the steering rack. Swarf (metal particles) in the power steering system can circulate and cause damage to both components.

The steering gear is a central component of your vehicle’s directional control system. If the rack and pinion assembly develops play, leaks power-assist fluid, or the internal gear surfaces wear, you’ll find yourself with vague steering feel, vehicle wander or increased effort.
