Synchro Ring 3rd/4th Gear
High-quality OE Match Syncro Ring designed to replace the original 3rd/4th gear synchronizer ring in manual gearboxes used on Porsche 924S (1986–1988) and Porsche 944 (1986–1991). It enables smooth gear matching between 3rd and 4th gears during shifting, helping eliminate gear clash and improve shift quality.
Sold individually, Needs 2 per gearbox.

This OE Match ring is ideal for transmission rebuilds, synchro refresh jobs, or when shifting issues are evident in the affected gears. It installs directly in place of the original ring within the transmission’s 3rd/4th synchronizer hub assembly.
The syncro ring helps match the speed of the gear to the speed of the shaft before engagement, allowing shifts into 3rd and 4th gear to occur smoothly and quietly. It bridges the difference between gears, reducing wear on dog teeth, gears, and engagement components.
Function
• Provides friction interface for speed matching between 3rd and 4th gears
• Reduces gear clash and harsh engagement
• Restores smooth shifting performance
Synchro rings wear naturally as part of normal transmission use. When they degrade, you may experience gear crunching, difficult or noisy shifts, gear hop, or faster wear on other transmission parts. Replacing them with an OE Match synchro ring restores correct shift feel, prolongs gearbox life, and helps maintain the performance and drivability expected from Porsche’s enthusiast-oriented engines.
When to replace:
• Grinding or crunching when selecting 3rd or 4th gear
• Delayed or hesitant engagement of those gears
