The roller supports smooth belt movement and helps prevent belt vibration or wandering, which is especially important on diesel engines where consistent timing belt control is critical. Replacing the roller at the correct interval helps protect the belt, tensioning components, and the engine’s timing system reliability.
Fits:
Porsche 957 Cayenne (9PA1) 3.0L V6 Diesel 2007 - 2010
Porsche 958 Cayenne (92A) 3.0L V6 Diesel 2011 - 2018

This roller provides a smooth, low-friction contact surface for the timing belt, helping the belt run true and remain properly tensioned across engine speed and load changes.
Function:
• Maintains consistent timing belt tension and tracking
• Reduces belt noise/vibration and helps prevent premature belt wear
• Supports accurate engine timing by keeping belt control stable
A worn roller bearing can become noisy, develop play, or seize - leading to poor belt control and accelerated belt wear. Replacing the roller during timing belt service helps maintain dependable belt tension and reduces the risk of timing drive issues.
When to replace:
• During timing belt replacement (recommended best practice)
• Any sign of bearing noise (whine/rumble) from the timing area
• Visible play, roughness, or contamination when spun by hand
• Oil/coolant contamination in the belt area that may damage bearings
