What This Product Does
The exhaust-gas turbocharger recovers energy from the exhaust flow to drive a compressor. This supplies pressurised intake air to the turbocharged 2.5-litre flat-four engine and supports the specified boost response and power delivery.
Functions
- Uses exhaust energy to operate the compressor.
- Pressurises the intake air supplied to the engine.
- Supports controlled boost delivery under load.
- Operates with the engine oil, coolant, intake and exhaust systems.

Symptoms of Fault
- Reduced boost pressure or delayed response.
- Whining or siren-like sounds from the turbocharger area.

Why Replacement Matters
A damaged or worn turbocharger may affect boost regulation, engine response and oil consumption. Before installation, inspect the boost and vacuum pipework, intake system, coolant connections, oil feed and return paths, seals and associated fittings. Any restriction, contamination or unresolved leak should be corrected to reduce the risk of damage to the replacement unit. Renew seals, fixings and specified one-time-use hardware as required by Porsche workshop procedures.
Check fitment for your specific vehicle, including model, year, engine code and PR specification, before ordering.

FAQs
- Can a boost leak cause similar symptoms? Yes. Split hoses, leaking seals or loose connections may cause reduced power and underboost symptoms, so pressure testing is advisable before replacing the turbocharger.
- Should the oil pipes be inspected? Yes. Contamination or restricted oil supply and return paths can contribute to turbocharger damage.
- How should compatibility be checked? Confirm Porsche part number 9A212302206 against the vehicle VIN, engine identification and applicable PR codes.
